DOE SPARK program.

Support for utilities,
PUCs & states.

The U.S. Department of Energy has launched the $1.9B SPARK Program (Speed to Power through Accelerated Reconductoring), a major new funding opportunity that provides significant federal cost share for near-term, high-impact grid capacity upgrades. Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs) and large organizations are eligible for up to 50% federal cost share, while electric cooperatives may qualify for up to 75%. SPARK is designed to rapidly increase transfer capability within existing rights-of-way, accelerate permitting, and deliver measurable improvements in reliability, affordability, and resource adequacy.

If your organization, Utility, PUC, State Energy Office, or Regional Planning Authority is preparing a concept paper (due April 2) or full application (due May 20), TS Conductor can support you directly with technical materials, templates, and strategic guidance. Please reach out below!

Why TS Conductor Delivers
Unmatched Value for SPARK.

  1. No Prudence Risk
TS Conductor is the only advanced‑conductor solution with no prudence risk as utilities no longer have to choose between reliability, resilience, affordability, speed, and safety. With TS, they get all five. Our technology is fully commercial (TRL‑9), field‑proven, and deployable using standard tools, crews, and structures.
  2. 2–3x More Capacity on Existing Structures
Our conductors consistently deliver ≥50% transfer capability increases, with 78% ampacity gain demonstrated at Montana‑Dakota Utilities and 80% at Salt River Project. This aligns directly with DOE’s Speed‑to‑Power mandate and avoids greenfield siting challenges.
  3. Fastest Path to Power
TS Conductor’s drop-in compatibility enables rapid installation, lower project costs, and accelerated time-to-operation; all critical advantages for SPARK projects requiring completion within 48 months.
  4. Most Affordable Advanced‑Conductor Solution
With lower lifecycle costs, reduced curtailment, and minimized structure replacement, TS Conductor delivers the lowest installed project cost per mile, helping DOE and states achieve reliability and affordability objectives.
  5. 100% U.S. Manufacturing
Our facilities in California and South Carolina support domestic supply chain resilience and are fully BABA compliant.
